Footprints around london 3

The Natural History Museum!
yup, went the the natural history museum with my senior richard and spent the entire day there. yes, the entire day meaning from 11.40am to about 4.30pm... it is that huge, the natural history museum. it was endless! but with perseverance, we saw the task through and finished every single exhibit there was in the natural history museum. boy it was tiring.
we forged through one exhibit after another, only stopping for a short break at the cafe. i must say, the museum is a grand place. It has such a magnificent interior, like those of a church, with the high vaulted ceilings and intricate designs on them. we went to all the different exhibits which featured fishes, amphibians, marine animals, birds, insects, ecology, geography... it feels quite like science center, except it's completely free. after a while, i got a bit bored from looking at all the static displays. i must clarify, the natural history museum is a really fabulous place, just that the way the exhibits present themselves gets repetitive after a while. it was all 'pull the knob, press the button, lift the flap' kind of exhibit. but i can imagine the excitement for children if they to come to such a massive vault of knowledge about earth and its inhabitants! i would really have enjoyed it if i came here if i was a sec school student. the presentation of tectonic plates and how the earth changes, how rocks changes could have rivalled learning from Marriane Chong. haha! I quite enjoyed the exhibits on dinosaurs though there were so many school children running all over the place, almost tripping themselves up everywhere, creating such a ruckus. dinosaurs always have that effect. well, for a moment, it did kind of transport me to the visitors' center in the movie Jurrasic Park. the exhibit was quite impressive!
after a elaborate tour around the natural history museum, we went to take a look at the royal albert hall which was just opposite Imperial College. yup, will definitely catch an opera there! it's planned! will be watching madame butterfly next februrary. picked up this nice brochure on it!
